Prayers for the New Church, services & more!
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

May the Lord bless you!

What a wonderful feast of Pentecost we celebrated last Sunday! All this week we should call to mind the incredible prayers of the kneeling Vespers and celebrate the whole week without fasting as the Church teaches us (Peter & Paul fast begins next Monday!).

As I mentioned Sunday, we all need to aid our building project with prayers. With the blessing of His Grace, Bishop Peter, we should all try to pray the following prayer every evening at 6:30 p.m. No matter where we are or what we are doing, let us ask for God's blessing at the same time every day.

Prayer Before Any Good Work
Try to read this prayer each day at 6:30 p.m., regardless of where you are or what you are doing.

Through the prayers of our holy Fathers, O Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Let us pray to the Lord.
Lord, have mercy.

O Lord Jesus Christ, our God, do Thou accept our fervent supplication and bless the good intent and work of thy servant, that they may begin favorably, and may complete the construction of a new Church in honor of the Holy Great martyr George unto Thy glory without any obstacle. Do Thou assist the workers and direct the work of their hands, and cause it to be brought speedily to completion by the power of Thy Most-holy Spirit. For Thine it is to be merciful and to save us, O our God, and unto Thee do we send up glory, together with Thy Father Who is without beginning, and Thy Most-holy, Good and Life giving Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

One other way we can help the parish is to sign up for Kroger Rewards. If link our Kroger Plus card with St. George parish, then Kroger will give a portion of every dollar we spend to our parish. Follow the link below for more information or contact John Oakley if you have further questions:

By Bishop Peter's decree, this Sunday we will be making a special collection for the youth of our diocese. Please consider making a donation to help fund our St. Herman conference, the annual bell-ringing competition and other events which help to involve our Orthodox youth in the life of the diocese. They are our future!

Finally, we need a new book in the altar. When we purchased this 4 volume set, volume 1 was out of stock. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would donate this book:
Please let me know if you plan to purchase this book so that we don't end up with 2 copies of it!

We will serve Vigil at 6 p.m. this Saturday and Divine Liturgy on Sunday at 10 a.m., as usual.
Come and join us in prayer!

Sincerely in Christ,
priest Daniel
